Especially hard hit during the 2020 pandemic lockdown, many artists around the world have harnessed the time for self-reflection to distinct advantage as is the case for NYC Fine Arts Photographer-Director Luciana Pampalone. Says Pampalone, “During this time, I was fortunate to be able to continue working both in my NYC studio and on location in the Hamptons. It’s been a challenge on every level but I’m beyond grateful I’ve been able to stay afloat when so many have lost so much.”

A celebrated Influencer in the world of Fine Arts and Fashion Photography, 2020 brought critical acclaim and celebrity recognition to Pampalone as she graced the cover of Fashion Maniac Magazine, a popular digital fashion platform during NYFW. Her dedication to environmental issues and concerns brought her recognition in February when she was bestowed the prestigious United Nations Cultural Award in support of bridging cultural community projects through sustainability and diversity between China, Africa and the United States.

The recent launch of Luciana’s home wares and interior design brand, Luciana’s Beach Chic Living, has been distinguished in 2020 through inclusion alongside her artwork in the high-status Hamptons boutique, Havens By KVD, and duly acknowledged by mention in Woman’s Wear Daily. In addition, cover shots and fashion spreads created by Pampalone appeared in various publications expertly orchestrated in editorial thematic with her easy abandon including Civilian Magazine; Social Life Magazine; Womenz Straight Talk Magazine by WOM Media; Avessa Magazine; Yoga Fit Magazine; and New York’s Metropolitan Magazine.

Capping off a year of creative pivoting and professional growth, Pampalone’s recent music video collaboration with #popstaraaronpaul’s, Behind This Painted Face, as Director is proving beyond doubt that her talent is limitless. Luciana comments, ” When I heard the song, I immediately knew we had to go dark and the image of a masked French Pierrot Mime entered my mind. It was the perfect persona for Aaron to slip into. We have all hidden from truth in relationships and just as the make-up masks the man’s feelings, we decided the dancer would be symbolic of spinning in circles, the relationship heading no-where. Paul’s emotional vocals along with Montgomery Frazier’s haunting lyrics beautifully convey despair over unrequited love.

“The video shoot was a fitting end to a challenging year, says Luciana. But endings always signify new beginnings.” Pampalone is moving forward into 2021 with a crush of creative projects lined up and looking forward to the New Year with anticipation and boundless vigor.
