In addition to adding flavours to food items, Fennel seeds are well- known for their multiple medicinal properties. Fennel, which is a rich source of fibre, contains various nutrients and antioxidants, such as phosphorous, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, niacin, pantothenic acid, folate, choline, beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin. Fennel seeds are believed to play a significant role during the weight loss process. In fact, drinking fennel seed water or tea (saunf ka pani) is believed to be an excellent way to burn body fat naturally, which aids in weight loss. Drinking fennel seed water can help boost your metabolism, thus helping your body burn more fats. Moreover, fennel seeds can help reduce the storage of fats by improving nutrient absorption in the body. If you are conscious about your health, you can easily include any of the below-mentioned homemade recipes along with some kind of physical workout and notice the weight loss results in just a few days. Fennel seeds also have diuretic properties, which helps in flushing out toxins from the body. Here are some easy ways to add Fennel seeds in your daily diet to help with your weight loss efforts.

Sauf water

Sauf water is a natural and effective remedy to reduce weight. Drinking sauf water regularly reduces the storage of fat by increasing the absorption rate of vitamins and minerals in the body.

To make this healthy drink, take 2 glasses of water and add 1 tablespoon sauf in it. Add ¼ teaspoon turmeric to it and mix it well. Cover the jar and leave it overnight. Next morning, take one glass of sauf water, boil it and then strain it. Then drink it on an empty stomach, like you would drink your tea. You can do the same during your evening tea time. Drink another glass of lukewarm sauf water during the evening. If possible, replace your usual evening tea or coffee with sauf water and you can speed up your weight loss process.

Sauf tea

Sauf tea is another cool and tasty way to consume fennel seeds regularly. Try this soothing version of tea which is made with sauf and jaggery.

To prepare 1 cup of Sauf tea, boil ¾ cup of water in a saucepan along with a teaspoon of sauf. Once it comes to a boil, add 1 teaspoon tea leaves and 1 teaspoon powdered jaggery. Mix it well and then add ¼ cup of milk. Stir the tea a bit and when it comes to a boil, switch off the flame. Cover the saucepan with a lid and leave it for five minutes. This will infuse the flavours and fragrance of fennel seeds in the tea. Strain the tea into a cup and enjoy your healthy drink.

Fennel seeds are also known to have antimicrobial properties. This helps in keeping your gums healthy and also keeps your mouth fresh and clean.
